About Us
Going Dutch...
We’re a dynamic mother-daughter duo who packed up our lives and made the leap from the U.S. to the Netherlands, all in search of something a little softer, kinder, and much more adventurous.
Originally Californians, we later settled in Southern Oregon until 2021, when a devastating wildfire turned our world upside down and forced us to pause and reevaluate everything. That loss, though heartbreaking, sparked a wild idea to reinvent instead of rebuild.
After some serious jet lag, it was as though someone had turned the lights on. Suddenly, everything was vivid, exciting, and full of life. We explored hidden gems across the country and wandered through Europe, and for the first time in a long time, it felt like we were truly living. It was like stepping out of a black-and-white film and into Technicolor.

Meet Our Team

Pam
Friendly Relocation Partner
Pam made the big leap from Oregon to the Netherlands in January 2024. Her career started with life-saving action as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic, but Pam’s creativity led her down a new path when she earned her Interior Design degree. Not stopping there, she ventured into event coordination and found time to write published editorials on almost everything from Wineries to the Australia Zoo. After settling in the Netherlands with her daughter, they recognized a gap in the expat experience and decided to do something about it.

Leah
Friendly Relocation Partner
Leah made the move from Oregon to the Netherlands in January 2024, embracing the adventure and exploring Europe one stamp at a time. With her Persian cat, Howie, by her side, she’s enjoying Dutch culture, canal strolls, and local delicacies. A creative professional with a background in hospitality and film, Leah now uses her skills to ensure every detail of your relocation is smooth and stress-free, making settling in feel like a celebration, not a chore.
With their combined years of experience in hospitality and design, Pam and Leah created Going Dutch -
a resource designed to help fellow expats settle in and enjoy their new adventure abroad.
